Yesterday I had the opportunity to walk a walking path at UH St. John Medical Center, Westlake OH and to hike the Brandywine Gorge trail at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The fall colors were breathtaking in both places. The walking path was an excellent example of man making beauty with the beautiful things God has made. The path wound throughout the space making the longest distance in the area available, but there was beauty at every turn with the shapes and colors of the trees, clearly selected and placed for their visual interest, carefully planned.
In contrast, the trail at the National Park took full advantage of the beauty arranged by God— the trees, the creek, the ravine and the falls... not to mention the birds, the chipmunks and other animals one sees or might see there. Both places had their own glory and demonstrated beautifully two different shapes God-honoring stewardship can take.
